CHINA BUSINESS NETWORK PRESENTS
Building Green in China –
A case study of LEED Platinum Design

With Raymond Cheng
ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
LRS Architects Inc., with offices in Portland and Shanghai, China, is currently working on one of the largest sustainable projects being developed in China. The project, located inside Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park, will consist of more than 2.2 million square feet of development across multiple buildings sharing common sustainable systems. The LRS design team includes additional Portland team member Interface Engineering, who will work closely with LRS to develop advanced sustainable systems for the project. Targeted to become one of the first LEED Platinum certified projects in China and the largest in the world when completed, the development will make use of advanced engineering strategies and integrated sustainable site design to achieve the highest rating from the US Green Building Council. To date, only a handful of projects in China have received any LEED certification. LRS’s efforts support the Chinese government’s focus on environmental concerns and reflect the project owner’s desire to be a pioneer in China’s burgeoning green movement. Raymond will share his expertise in building Portland-China teams, with a focus on exporting our region’s sustainable expertise.
